Paralympic Sports Medalist Deepa Malik and reports suggest that Sonakshi Sinha might be roped in for playing the lead role.
Reportedly, a few years back, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment was to produce a biopic on Deepa but it was a no-go back then. The plan might now be back in place again and actress Sonakshi Sinha might be roped in to play the lead role of Deepa Malik.

Based on a report in Mumbai Mirror, there is a fair chance that Sonakshi Sinha will play the lead role. Earlier in 2016, Sonakshi Sinha had even met Deepa Malik at an awards show and they both went on to fangirl over each other. Deepa Malik had tweeted about the event,"Sonakshi Sinha it sure was a fan moment. Great receiving the award from the Bindaas girl. Blessings and success is wished today and always." Responding to this tweet, Sonakshi replied- "Ma'am it was a fan moment for me!!! thank you for being you and radiating so much positivity! Truly an inspiration...Deepa Athlete."
Deepa Malik is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games and a silver at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. She has also won 54 national gold medals and 13 in swimming, shot put and javelin throw and is a pride for the country.
